Canada Post union announces strike. Are you ready?

OCTOBER 16 UPDATE: The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced that postal workers could walk off the job as early as Monday, October 22. If an agreement can’t be reached, postal workers will begin rotating strikes starting 12:01am on Monday. Despite over ten months of negotiations, the two sides could not agree on remaining key demands.

OVERVIEW:

A strike would cause immediate and widespread disruption to businesses and consumers – including the insurance industry and its insureds.

In the event of a strike, all mail operations would come to a stop – including the delivery of insurance documents to consumers. Brokers have an opportunity to protect your consumers from this type of disruption by signing up for CSIO’s My Proof of Insurance eDelivery solution. This solution allows you to send digital policy documents and auto liability cards which can be stored on the insured’s mobile device.

My Proof of Insurance is available to CSIO members at no additional cost, featuring a fast setup process and integrations with many BMS vendors.
