This solution means brokers and consumers can say good-bye to paper, delivering digital policy documents for both personal and commercial lines. What’s more, it is available to all CSIO members as a core benefit. If your brokerage is a member of IBAS, you’re automatically a member of CSIO.

Hundreds of brokerages across Canada have signed up since the solution launched in February, sending thousands of digital documents to insureds in a short amount of time.
CSIO conducted extensive market research to better understand consumer expectations and behaviours prior to developing this solution, ensuring that it would meet those expectations upon launch. The data showed:
- 74% of consumers want to receive their insurance documents electronically (Insurance Bureau of Canada)
- Only 4% of Canadians have downloaded an insurance app (Forrester Research)
- Mobile app installations in the United States decreased by 38% from 2014-2016 (Adobe Digital Insights)
The research found that consumers minimize the number of apps they download, saving memory for photos and videos. The apps they do download are the ones that see regular use, such as social media, banking and games. Furthermore, consumers do not want to manage additional usernames, passwords, and security validation – a requirement for many mobile apps and online portals.
In short, consumers want a straightforward experience where insurance documents come to them through the simplest means possible. My Proof of Insurance meets this desire by delivering policy documents through a technology that consumers already use in their everyday life: email.
To provide consumers with a consistent experience regardless of their insurance provider, all emails come from the “@myproofofinsurance.ca” domain. In addition, to support brokers in communicating the benefits of this solution to the public, CSIO has launched the consumer-facing informational website www.myproofofinsurance.ca. The content includes an educational video, step-by-step instructions, and an FAQ section.
FAST FACTS ON MY PROOF OF INSURANCE
What is it? My Proof of Insurance is a solution for CSIO member brokers and carriers (including all members of IBAS) to send digital policy documents to consumers over email – no apps, portals or log-ins required.
Can I brand the emails sent to my customers? Yes! Your logo will be included in all emails sent, and you may customize your email template.
Do my carrier partners have to sign up as well? No. You can send documents for personal and commercial lines to consumers insured by any market, any time.
Does it integrate with my BMS? Yes! As of this writing, the following BMS vendors have announced integrations with My Proof of Insurance:

Brokerage registration and setup for the My Proof of Insurance eDelivery solution takes as little as one business day:
- Personal account on CSIO.com. Members of IBAS are automatically members of CSIO and are encouraged to create their account.
- Brokerage CSIOnet mailbox.
- Brokerage logo file.
- Designated Organization Administrator to manage your brokerage’s My Proof of Insurance account.
Registration is available at www.csio.com/edelivery. Once the form is submitted, your Organization Administrator will receive a confirmation email with login credentials and a welcome email including a user guide, staff training resources, and consumer marketing materials.
