WHY DEVELOP CSIO STANDARD WEB SCREENS?
With a growing number of companies developing internet based transactions, there was a concern that Brokers would be taken back to the days of company unique terminals. As company web screens were being introduced, the need to standardize these screens became evident. As a result, CSIO set in motion its development of standard web screens for personal lines with the cooperation of its company, broker and vendor members.

WHY IMPLEMENT CSIO STANDARD WEB SCREENS?
In B2B (Business to Business) communications, CSIO standard web screens implemented by companies will all have a similar look and feel, and will contain the same required policy data. Brokers who do business with many different companies will not have to learn how to utilize a multitude of different screens for similar business functions. Instead, they can learn to use one standard screen layout for the same business function with each company. By adopting standard web screens, carriers will ensure that their brokers can easily and quickly enter information on their web enabled transaction screens. Therefore, if a broker has to enter a policy change request with Company A, he will be able to use a similar screen with Company B or C.

CSIO STANDARD WEB SCREENS COMPLETED DEVELOPMENT
To date, CSIO has developed standard web screens and guidelines for the following transaction types:

Billing Inquiry
Claims Status Inquiry
First Notice of Loss Automobile
First Notice of Loss Habitational
Policy Change Automobile

CSIO has published a document entitled "Web Screen Standards and Guidelines" which provides standard approaches to assist developers with their web screen designs. It documents layout considerations such as screen resolution, background & foreground colour, fonts, titles, logos and images, to name a few. And it provides guidance on all technical considerations such as screen navigation, help features, etc. This ensures companies will maintain a similar look & feel among all their screens.

CSIO STANDARD WEB SCREENS FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
Development for Policy Change Habitational is currently underway, and we are starting work on New Business Transactions for Automobile and Habitational. These phases of web screen development are scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2001. CSIO expects to extend the benefits of standard web screens into Commercial Lines.

CSIO STANDARD WEB SCREENS ARE NOW IN FRENCH!
All CSIO Standard Web Screens are also now available in French, for the following transaction types:

Interrogation sur la facturation
Statut des réclamations
Déclaration de sinistres - Automobile
Déclaration de sinistres - Habitation
Modification de police - Automobile

The "Web Screen Standards and Guidelines" document is also available in French. CSIO will endeavour to provide simultaneous release of future web screens in French, as English screens are developed and released.
