Insurance Companies![]() Here is a breakdown of the various meetings that CSIO holds during the
year covering the content and the type of person that should attend. ********** National Standards Workgroup - Are held 3 times a year. At least one is held in Montreal.
Agenda and minutes are provided for all meetings for all participants and CSIO members.
Special (Standards) Workgroups / Forms Workgroups: On an "as required basis" -generally 2-4 per year Content: For EDI (Personal Lines) or XML (Personal or Commercial) and Forms. These meetings address a specific issue or set of Standards issues including forms development. For example, in the past we have had special workgroups for the new Commercial Lines XML Standards that are being developed. Special Workgroups are called usually at the request of the National Standards Workgroup or by CSIO in order to deal with maintenance requests/focused topics that are too detailed to handle at the National Standards Workgroup meeting (often due to time constraints). Contact or CSIO Chair: Dependant on the area of expertise. In all cases, CSIO staff will announce the Workgroup with an invitation and agenda for all meetings and deliver a set of minutes post-meeting. Suggested Attendees: Based on the agenda
content or invitation notification. For example, if it's EDI agenda items then an EDI person familiar with EDI
message content and formation should attend.
CTAG (CSIO Technical Advisory Group): Meeting is called right after each National Standards Workgroup (1-2 weeks later). Time 9:30 to 12:30. Agenda and minutes are e-mailed to all meeting participants. Content: All MRs/XMRs are re-reviewed from a technical aspect to ensure they are technically sound and fit to existing Standards rules and processes (EDI and/or XML) i.e. the business case is not part of this technical review. Contact or CSIO Chair: ********** EPOF/EPVFs: Implementation Forums (EPOF or ePartners Open Forum and EPVFs or e-Partner Vendor Forums) used to discuss Standards Implementation matters. Content: These are forums to address broker, insurer and BMS/vendor standards implementation issues between the various trading partners. The "Open Forum or EPOF" is for any CSIO issues common across all CSIO trading partner lines. The EPVFs (Vendor Forums) are closed-door meetings (by specific vendor) for each of the main BMS/vendors and is currently focused on EDI implementation matters. Companies and the specific BMS/ vendors that they do business with are then able to discuss in private any implementation issues. All issues are documented as PDRs (Problem Determination Reports). PDRs are filed by brokers, insurers and BMS/vendors and can involve one or more of the trading partners. Contact or CSIO Chair: Email Francine Davis
at fdavis@csio.com or by phone at.416-360-1773 ext. 2322
Suggested Attendee: One who has some technical and some business expertise (EDI) and has a working knowledge of the Standards and is very familiar with BMS/vendor systems.
